Background

Knowledge Graph of K12 Education (EDUKG) is a large-scale knowledge graph on the domain of K12 education, which provides multiple-degree knowledge description and entity linking for other K12 corpora for educational usage. Meanwhile, EDUKG is built with authoritative textbooks, teaching assistant books and a massive online corpus to contain vast contents for K12 education. EDUKG can be used for entity searching, which displays the relations between the searched entities and the entities’ properties and sources.

We have successfully made up EDUKG, a knowledge graph that contains more than 700 classes, 1.8 million entities, 2000 properties and 22 million triplets, based on the knowledge of K12 education. Thus we furthermore used it in the applications of AI+ education that including knowledge QA, knowledge searching, knowledge combing and knowledge connection etc. Moreover, we built it as API services for other developers in the same research field.

Furthermore, EDUKG has proven that computer can get cognitive intelligence. It is possible to build computers as virtual teachers or learning partners for students with all the K12 knowledge provided by EDUKG. However, effectively using the data resource contained by EDUKG and developing valuable downstream applications for personal use is a fundamental problem for Internet+ education in this era.

Task

This competition is an application developing competition based on knowledge graphs for AI+ educational use.

The data source includes the API service provided by the open EDUKG knowledge service platform and the subsets of triplets data from every subject sub-graph of EDUKG.

The works in this competition will be used in further research and development for EDUKG. At the same time, they also could be used in real K12 education scenario for schools, teachers and students.
